“Southern Gospel Today” Host Wayne Haun Garners Six Dove Award Nominations

Nashville, Tennessee (August 10, 2017)

Salem Media Group announced today that Wayne Haun, host of Singing News Radio’s Southern Gospel Today, which airs weekdays from 2-6 P.M. CST, has garnered six nominations for the 2017 Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards, giving him more nods than any other individual this year.

In addition to being nominated for Producer of the Year, Haun’s songs, “Never Forsaken” and “When Grandpa Sang Amazing Grace,” earned him recognition as a songwriter in the Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year and Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year categories, respectively.

Additionally, three albums that were produced by Haun are nominated for Dove Awards in the Southern Gospel Album of the Year category this year. They are Lift Him Up (The Guardians), Resurrection (Joseph Habedank), and Here for You (Tribute Quartet).

Haun, a 5-time Grammy nominee and previous winner of 25 Dove Awards and 3 BMI Music Awards, has been a part of Nashville’s music scene since 1995, and is no stranger to the Southern Gospel Music genre.

Haun’s radio show, Southern Gospel Today, can be heard Monday through Friday from 2 – 6 P.M. CST on Singing News Radio.
