Sevierville, TN (September 8, 2020)
JP Miller has announced the release of a new Southern Gospel radio program to a local pop station. Miller is no stranger to Southern Gospel music. With a career spanning over two decades in the music industry, JP Miller is a well-known soloist, television personality, and radio host. Miller also works closely with the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame, located in Pigeon Forge, TN.

For the last nine years, JP has hosted the Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee, a live radio and television program that broadcasts from Sevierville, TN. The show was an instant hit. Fans enjoyed sitting in the store’s recliners and watching the show in person. Never before has a live radio program been open to the public like this plus being taped for television. Artists that have appeared on the program include Triumphant, Kingdom Heirs, Tony Gore, LuLu Roman, Ann Downing, and many others. During the social distancing season, Miller and crew remained on the air and added Facebook to their program broadcasting from the studio of Praise 96.3. Like many of his music industry peers during the pandemic, Miller faced the cancellation of several concert dates. Although thousands of fans tuned in to enjoy the show via the internet, JP still had time on his hands looking for ways to fulfill his ministry.

Miller approached the Executive Producers of the Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee, Ron and Betty Ogle with the idea of doing a brand new gospel music based radio program on a secular station while keeping his Monday night program going.

The Ogles agreed to program and approached the Mix 105.5 station and their sister station Mtn 106.3 in Sevierville, TN. The stations play a mix of adult pop and contemporary songs and is a favorite of locals in Sevier County, TN. Miller approached the stations with the idea of hosting a weekly Sunday morning broadcast that would feature Southern Gospel Music. After meetings of discussion and planning, all parties agreed and JP Miller was named host of Ogle’s Chapel Hour broadcasting on Mix 105.5 and Mtn 106.3 from 9am – 10am in Sevierville, TN.

“This is a way to reach folks with the Gospel and Southern Gospel Music who would typically not listen to our music or our message. Having a presence on secular radio is a great ministry tool. I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to share our music with new people! Just because Covid has hindered our concert appearances and gathering together, our callings and desire to share the message of Jesus is still there. We just need to be a little more creative and think of new ways to reach people” Miller stated.

The show, Ogle’s Chapel Hour will begin on Sunday, September 23, 2020 and will air from 9am – 10am in the Sevier County area of Tennessee. It can be heard around the world on www.mixx1055.com and www.mountain1063.com.
