Cooper Ellington passes Away

Southern Pines, NC  (July 29, 2018) — For the past few years, many in the Southern Gospel community, fans, and artists alike, have been touched by the life of 18-year-old Cooper Ellington, Growing up, Cooper was a very active and athletic youngster, but in 2011, a mass was discovered on his brainstem which was eventually diagnosed as Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) Syndrome. After hours in surgery and months in hospitals, Cooper had to relearn to walk and talk. Cooper developed a love for Southern Gospel music, and in 2014 felt a calling to share with others his testimony of God’s work in his life. He and his dad sang and shared Cooper’s story every chance. Cooper was also routinely called up on stage to sing with various artists and was simply an inspiration to everyone who met him.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 29, 2018, Cooper unexpectedly passed away. Cooper leaves behind his parents, Reid and Stephanie, and many others who were touched by his ministry. One of Cooper’s typical slogans was “I’ll Pray For You, You Pray For Me.”
