Kinston, NC – Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame member Ed O’ Neal is proud to welcome Jerry Skaggs to his legendary Dixie Melody Boys. Skaggs joins the quartet after an extensive search and will make his official debut at the Memphis Quartet Show.

O’ Neal states, “I was absolutely thrilled with the number of gentlemen who came forward to audition. I truly had a difficult decision to make, but Jerry Skaggs stood out for a number of reasons. He’s got a great voice, a humble spirit, and he’s a real pro. But after taking him on the road for a couple of weeks, I saw how he lived his life and there was no doubt that he was the man for the job.”

Skaggs began his singing career with the Faith Harmony Boys in 1987 and later joined his family group, the Faithmen. He also served as music minister for 10 years at Lighthouse Worship Center in Hico, West Virginia. Most recently, Jerry sang tenor for the Skyline Boys Quartet until their retirement.

Jerry and his wife, Karen, reside in Ansted, West Virginia, near their daughter, Brittany and her husband, Matt Hildebrand and their two children, Madison and Ezekiel, as well as their son Tyler Skaggs and his fiancé, Lucy Pannell.
