SECRET PHOTOS


The 2007 Suwannee River Jubilee gets under way on June 14 and will continue through Saturday June 16th. The event is held at the The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park near Live Oak Florida.


Bring your own chair, couch, recliner or park bench.


The Brothers two, Andrew and Randy Shelnut. I think the older Andrew gets, the more he looks like his dad, the great Dale Shelnut.

There is something going on all the time at the Suwannee. Bean suppers, watermelon cuttings, afternoon singing and more.


Food concession to fit every palate.


"Homer", better know as Glen Allred. That lady sleeping next to Glen is his wife, Shirley.


Hundreds of campers fill the park to enjoy all three days.


I couldn't be in the photo, 'cause I am taking it. Ain't sure my wide angle lens would have worked anyway. (L/R) My lovely wife of 40 years this October 1st, Carolyn Kirksey, Revé Stewart, a truly GREAT COOK . . .and her resident food tester, Derrell Stewart.


Now folks listen to me, this is SERIOUS STUFF. This red barn looking building contains some of the greatest southern cooking there is. Buffet style, you know one of those "all you can eat" type places. Cooked the way grandma cooked. Seasoned, totally none healthy, but it is to die for. Open Monday - Friday 11am til 2pm. Thats it. Get it while you can. Food items too many to list, ain't a bad one in the house. Located in downtown Live Oak on old Hwy 90.

All great events have a great emcee, except the Suwannee River Jubilee. Their emcee is my dear LITTLE buddy and Singing News editor-at-large Danny Jones. Danny bought this tuxedo for the Fan Awards. He told me it cost him so much he feels he needs to wear it at each event he attends in order to get his monies worth. You will be able to spot Danny very easily at the Suwannee. He should be the only one dressed in a tux eating watermelon with his hands. If you don't see him looking like a penguin . . .
