Gatlinburg - Bryson City Concerts 2005

Carolyn and I were in Gatlinburg for the three night gathering. Actually Carolyn was there for three nights and I drove over the mountain to Bryson City NC to be with the Inspirations at their Labor Day event.

Much to our surprise we had great crowds at both events. No one was sure of what was going to happen with all the many things going on in America.

I think one Singing News subscriber best summed it up. He told me, "I'm not going to let 'things' make my plans, God is in charge, I'll trust Him, He will provide."

The Singing News table in Gatlinburg was the scene of lots of visiting, fellowship and even some business.


The exhibition hall in Gatlinburg is a busy place during the Gathering.


I do not get to spend a lot of time in the auditorium during a concert so I don't get to see everyone perform. I was in the auditorium during Greater Visions stand and shot several photo's. Gerald Wolfe is a powerful singer, great MC and a professional on the keyboards. That's a lot of talent in small package.


Jason Waldroup, loved by all Southern Gospel Music fans sings a beautiful tenor from the heart.


Song writing Rodney Griffin, also sings a mean baritone.


The original version of Tony Gore and Majesty brought the house down.


Over the mountain in Bryson City I had the pleasure of hearing some great singing by the Inspirations, Chuck Wagon Gang, Primitive Quartet and the McKameys. Ruben and I were real good, we did not cheat, we did not have any strawberries and ice cream. This little angel pictured above is Caleb Cook, son of Myron and Jeniffer Cook.


This is Aubrey, daughter of Nathan and Nicole "Holcomb " Pierce. I had a nice visit with Nicole, she is trusting God for strength to carry her through as she adjust to the death of Nathan and the responsibility of raising Aubrey. Nicole needs our prayers.


This beautiful young lady is Reagan Beck, only Granddaughter of tenor great Archie Watkins.


Viewing the works of the hand of God adds to the joy of hearing his praises sang.

It was a great weekend, beautiful weather, plenty of good Southern Gospel Singing and lots of friends. What more could you ask for.
