Brumley Sing II

The audience swelled by a couple of thousand fans last night. This building will seat 12,000 so there is plenty of room left for you to join us in Fayetteville AR. We're at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The concerts will continue tonight and tomorrow night. Here are more photos of what's happening in Fayetteville.

L/R Duane Garren, Bob Brumley, Geraldine and Jerry Kirksey....... Geraldine is speaking to me again after the Ricky thing.

The Brumley Music Company booth

Ricky and Karen Gooch

Becky and John Bowman

Where is the next generation of Southern Gospel Music Fans? Sitting in front of the first row. Look at their faces, they are loving the music.

Jackie and Elaine Wilburn

The newest traditional Southern Gospel all male Quartet "Monument" had a great stand and the fans loved them. These guys are GOOD.

Sisters and Brother. Becky, Ben and Sonya of the Isaacs Family

Brumley event promoter Bob Brumley and LONG TIME assistant Sharon.

Brian Lester pouring his heart out and enjoying it.

Duane and Micky Garren. Duane handles most of the details of this event and does a wonderful job of making things run smooth.

The fans really loved the smooth harmonies of the Booth Bros.

Two year old Landon Ritchie, son of Greg and Charlotte Ritchie brought the house down. He walked on stage and calmly said, "Hi Yall" and then sang "Thank You Lord." Southern Gospel Music has children on stage and in the audience; we'll be going strong till the Lord returns. And you can put that in the bank. Southern Gospel Music is not a fashion or a fad; it's the Gospel in song.

Tim and Mary Alice Lovelace. Tim had em rolling in the aisles.

Now here is a trio for you, Jerry Kirksey, Bob Brumley and Ray Dean Reece.

Nick Trammell son of Mark and LaResa Trammell sang with the Perrys in the baritone slot for Joseph Habedank who was playing best man at his best friends wedding. Nick was GREAT. Which was no surprise to me. I know he was trained by the best, his Dad.

Brumley Sing I

Carolyn and I are in Fayetteville AR at the annual Albert E. Brumley event. I am writing this on Wednesdy evening August 3rd. We have the largest Wednesday night crowd in the history of the Brumley sing. Yesterday we spent some time in Tulsa OK with Frank and Vicki Arnold and also some time in Bentonville AR, home of Wal-Mart. I have a few photos to share of where we've been and what we've done so far.

Carolyn leaving the very first Wal-Mart in Bentonville AR. It is now a Museum of Wal-Mart history.

We went to Tulsa to visit Frank and Vicki Arnold on Tuesday. They have an "Old Fashion Hamburger" place patterned after "Arnold's" from "Happy Days." They have been in business for twenty years and do a big business. The burgers are made of fresh ground beef never frozen and cooked just right. It's a real old fashion burger and worth a trip Arnolds. The shakes are awesome too.

Arnold's was packed at the lunch hour when we were there. And the drive in window was lined back to the street.

We visited ORU, while in Tulsa. Orrell Roberts University is quite an impressive place especially the hospital.

Now back in Fayetteville during the afternoon sound checks several of our Southern Gospel singing ladies gaither for a news sharing session. L/R Sonya Isaacs, Susan Jackson, Becky Isaacs Bowman, Lily Isaacs, Karen Peck Gooch. They were not dressed for the concert yet. Sorry about running this photo ladies. I forget I told you I wouldn't. What I said was I would not put it in the Singing News. We did not discuss Jerry's Journel.

We have plenty of GREAT Bar-B-Que from the Razorback Bar-B-Que pit.

Take note, Rubin and Peg Bean, A Blue Bunny Ice Cream stand. Mine- all Mine.

The Randell Tyson Track Center is a huge building. New, Clean and lots of space. The air-conditioning works great and there is plenty of parking all around the building and all on FLAT ground. It's a great place for a great concert.

Bob Brumley, son of Albert E Brumley and promoter of this event, leads a choir of Southern Gospel singers and the audience in singing some old Albert E Brumley songs.

I don't have a wide angle lens for my camera so you can't see the true size of this crowd of thousands. The largest Wednesday night crowd in the history of the Brumley sing.

It seems Geraldine had read what I had to say about her on the Singing New web site. All I said was; she is a BAD mother to little Ricky . You know losing him on the air-plane and all. Any way she reacted violenty. Lucky for me Paul Wharton was on hand and got a photo of the crime.

The Hayes Family from Boone is an annual favorte with the Brumley fans.

For all of you who have been praying about little Ricky. I took this photo tonight so you could see for yourselves Ricky is fine. Safe, well I'm not that sure about his mother you know.

Carolyn had a visit from Kennedy Lauren Hayes, daughter of Mylon and Windy Hayes at the Singing News table.

The night belonged to the Gospel Enforcers. This huge crowd loved these guys. You couldn't even get close to their record table after they sang.

That's it for tonight. We still have Thursday, Friday and Saturday to go. Come join us in Fayetteville AR. The Randall Tyson Track Center is located on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Anyone can point you to us. Hope to see you here.

We love you.
