Jerry's Secret Photo Album
Carolyn and I were in Bladenboro NC this past weekend for the Dove Bros. Homecoming event. We had beautiful weather a whole bunch of Southern Gospel Music lovers and great fellowship with the Dove Bros., Kingsmen, Serenaders and Jim Hamill. Jim had a great night. His jokes were a big hit, as was his singing. Jim said, I even hit my notes, not bad for a seventy year old. With this talent line up you know it was a great concert. The Kingsmen sang several old Kingsmen hits, which I really enjoyed. The photo below is of Andrew Smith (piano picker for Dove Bros.) holding a painting of him and his fiancée. The painting was done by a fan who brought it to the homecoming. Now on to some more of my secret photos you DID NOT see in the Singing News. These photos were taken in California in 1998.Ole Red Socks Derrell Stewart with is eyes fixed on the stage. He is thinking "Boy I wish I could play like that !!)"But you can't and never will, plus I'm beautiful." Rosa Nell SpeerChris Freeman has that "O My Lord, Something just broke suddenly with a sharp sound" look on her face"I just love hugging fans, see how happy I am." Les Beasley an old boy from Florida Old Red Socks Derrell Stewart and Roger Bennett on stage. I asked Derrell about this photo. His story was he was trying to heal Roger. David Ring said Tony greene was trying to pick his pocket so David decided to just pick Tony's pocket at the same time. "I see you Claude Hopper, how dare you; selling white hankies in the audience while I'm singing."This is an old, old photo I found in my files. It was taken when Danny Jones had hair and when Ernie Hasse combed his. Gotta run I'm working on another "Memories" story for you. See you soon!!
