Jerry's Photo Leftovers
I am introducing a new feature to my Journal, "Jerry's Photo Leftovers." Over the these past forty plus years I have taken an uncountable number of photos most of which never made it into the Singing News Magazine, because we have always selected the best ones for publication. The internet and my personal journal will allow me the opportunity to share many of these "Leftover" photos with you. I will post "Leftovers" from time to time as I find special photos and when I am not on the road posting photos from concerts, events etc. Since this is a new idea I have not had time to research my files so I will start with a few of my favorites that are very current. I hope over the next months and maybe years you will enjoy Jerry's Photo Leftovers. Why did I choose the title "Leftovers" ? I bet most of you already know !!
This SGMA board meeting is dragging on forever. I need to close my eyes. I need to sing. I sleep better when I am singing!
"Rock a bye Archie up on the stage"
Beckie Simmions President of Beckie Simmons Agency and Dottie "Leonard" Miller President of New Day Distribution and Day Wind records. The reason I have posted this photo is because neither lady wants their photo exposed anywhere and I promised not to print the photo in Singing News and I have lived up to my word.
Mr. Roy Pauley up close. See I told you, NO HORNS, but two GOOD ears.
Mr. Hunter Templeton, just being Hunter. Notice Carolyn sitting back and letting her adopted Grandson do what ever he wants to. Spoiled at the Kirksey house, spanked at the Templeton house. Hunter and I think Carolyn should be the one getting the spankings.
I saved the best for last. I took this photo in Cozamel Mexico and as you can see Old Red Socks is wearing white socks. Old Red Socks and I have been like brothers for over forty years. We have traveled the world together. I have done my best but he don't get any better. He walks funny, looks funny, dresses funny and acts funny, morning, noon and night. Derrall is alway Derrall, You'all pray for him PLEASE !! And all us family members also.

Albert E. Brumley Sing-Fayetteville AR
I am sorry for the delay in updating our trip, however I had some serious problems with the internet service provider at the hotel in which we were staying. I am not the world's smartest computer person. Therefore, I need a service provider who is smarter than I, and I did not have one.
Now that we are back in Boone I have Ken and Brett to help me so I can continue on. We had a great time at the James D. Vauhgan Quartet Festival. It was sold out for the first time, so everyone was overjoyed.
Carolyn and I left the Vaughan Quartet Festival and drove to Fayetteville, AR for the Albert E Brumley concerts. For the frist three days in Fayetteville we thought we were going to burn up. The temperature stayed around 99 degrees. We don't have those kinds of temperatures on the mountain top. I told Carolyn if the Brumley sing was still in Springdale at the Rodeo Area we would be on our way back to Boone.
Bob Brumley, the events promoter and producer, always has a great line-up of talent, and this year was no exception. We enjoyed seeing the Dixie Melody Boys with their new tenor Dan Keaton who had the crowd standing on their feet several times. The Perrys were also a big hit with the Brumley sing crowd. All the groups did an excellent job on stage. Mr. Southern Gospel Music "Michael Booth" came by the Singing News table for his usual lesson, however after all these years he is still in the first grade of our "Hardcore Southern Gospel Music" academy, but Carolyn loves him anyway. We'll keep working and praying with Michael. We had so many great visit with so many different folks I don't have room to cover them all. The Brumley sing is a great event. If you have never been, you should make plans to attend it next year. Watch the Singing News for the dates and talent line-up.
I have a few photos from the Albert E Brumely Sing to share with you. I hope you enjoy them.
Bob Brumley with his right arm, Sharon
A hard working foursome. (L/R) David and Susan Jackson; Mickey and Daune Garren. Mickey and Daune were married last month. Daune put his new wife to work at her very first Brumley event.
Wendy Hayes wife of Mylon Hayes had a full time job taking care of the Hayes grandchildren while the family was on stage singing.
Carolyn and I offered to take Miss Kennedy Hayes off her parents hands, however they turned us down. Kennedy is a living doll.
This is how the program looked to the thousands in attendance. The sound and video was just great.
Geraldine and Ricky are coming to my home church this month. Ricky promised me if I would take his photo he would not work on me while he is at Mt Vernon Baptist Church. OK Ricky, I have done my part.
That's all for now. I'll post more soon.
