NQC - Second Look #3
Got some more photos from the Tuesday evening edition of the National Quartet Convention. Enjoy - and like we've said before, wish you were here!
If you've got friends or family attending this year's NQC, make sure you call them and remind them to bring home something for you! There are several shirts, cds, jackets and more to choose from!
I'm telling you, they'll let anyone in! That's me trying to help Aaron Wilburn make it the final 300 miles to his booth (he always manages to come in the door that's miles away from where he needs to be!
Gotta be careful, though...I got ran over by an artist hurrying to the stage as I was trying to take this photo of the Wilburns' Christmas-style booth. (The hit and run driver was Robbie Hiner of the Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet.)
One of Southern Gospel Music's living legends, Lily Fern Weatherford, is here at the NQC. That's her son Steve pictured with her.
That's Beckie Simmons and Danny Riley of Gold City talking shop at the BSA booth. Perhaps they're working on a date that will bring Gold City to a location near you.
Need an instrument? Just pick one (uh, no pun intended).
Lauren Templeton is just happy having a place to hide while her parents, Jeff & Amy, take care of business.
The Singing News Riverboat cruises take place this Friday and Saturday. We will, however, be using a much larger boat.

NQC - Second Look #2
The doors have just opened at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville, KY, for the second evening of the National Quartet Convention. Here's a look at the early action....
Some of the first people through the door were John and Jennifer Rulapaugh (of the Palmetto State Quartet) and the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion Man, Charlie Waller.
Speaking of the Palmetto State Quartet, here's their bass singer, "TEX" McCune checking out the official NQC program book.
Two faces only a mother could love - Derrell Stewart (R) and Harold Reed of the Florida Boys.
And since Derrell was a "captive audience," I couldn't resist getting a photo of what Les Beasley calls Derrell's best side.

Fans are already getting their tickets for the 2005 National Quartet Convention.
Several people have e-mailed wanting to know if the Kingsmen made it to convention after the flood damage they suffered. Yep, they did. Here's Jeremey, Nick, Brandon and Tim. (Ray's still sleeping, apparently.)
And sleeping must be what Ed O'Neal is doing because the other Dixie Melody Boys (Dustin, Devin and Dan) are the booth!
Terry Toney of the Toney Brothers (the TALL guy on the left) towers above most everyone here at NQC.

NQC - Second Look #1
Greetings all! After a long night, people are beginning to finally stir and get ready for another long day ahead. Since there's not a lot going on last night, I'm going to share a few shots that didn't make the first reports from the NQC. Just a word of warning - some of these photos are not too good; however, it's better than nothing! I'll have more updates later today, so check back often.
One of the exhibit booths featured someone's sketchs of many Southern Gospel personalities.
This is Ronnie Booth, in a photo taken at about midnight - he's trying to find his brother Michael, who has managed to run away and hide with the key to the bus.
The infamous Food Court. Jerry Kirksey could write for days about the variety of food that's found here. (As you can tell, this was taken before it was mobbed by hungry Southern Gospel fans.)
More options in the Food Court. We think Jerry started on this side.
Taken from near the rear of the Food Court, this photo might just give you an idea of the size of the Exhibit Hall. Follow the row of lights on the ceiling - and you'll walk several football fields.
If you happen to be in the Food Court for any reason, you won't miss a minute of what's going on at the stage because there is a TV feed directly to the Exhibit Hall.
Are we sure this is singing convention or a used bus lot? This is just one of several rows of buses parked at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center.
The Daywind Booth is always a favorite stop with people wishing to purchase soundtracks.
