Have you ever noticed how fickle we human beings can be? For example, for the last several days here in Boone, NC, it has rained. Now, I don't mean a sprinkle here, a sprinkle there. I mean rained. Buckets of rain. Tanker trucks of rain. Noah's Ark quality rain.
"I wish it would quit raining." "It's rained so much we'll never dry out." "If it doesn't quit raining, we're going to have a miserable summer." That's the kind of talk you hear out on the streets.
Yet, it wasn't too long ago that the talk was "I wish it would rain - we really need the water." "If it doesn't rain soon, the gardens won't make it." "My well will run dry if it doesn't rain."
Because we flip-flop so much, it kinda makes you wonder if God shakes His head and says, "ARRRGGGHHH!"
But thankfully, He doesn't. He still loves us and carries us through the times. He's right beside us even though we may feel He's millions of miles away. And though we're about as dependable as battery-less watch, He's never been fickle with us.
But what if He was? Would we be able to get up each morning with the knowledge that He's already prepared for our day ahead - when we're struggling just trying to decide what to wear? Would we even be ABLE to get up?
Think about how things would be if God just didn't care. Makes you shudder, doesn't it?
Yet, every day, He's there.
Rain or shine.
