NQC 2005 Coverage - A Mixed Bag

Saturday, September 17, 2005

The 2005 NQC is nearing completion and with that comes the end of a hectic schedule for many artists and industry members. For example, I bounced from one showcase to another, spoke at the Southern Gospel Promoters Association Breakfast, filmed several bits with INSP for future programming, did several radio interviews with members of the media that are in town for the event and so on. Mind you, I'm not complaining - but it sure did cut down on the available time for things like sharing these photos!

These photos are from the camera of Dean Muz, who writes Canadian Connection for Singing News every month. Check out the view in Dean's lens.....

No, this is not a scene from a scary Hollywood movie, nor is it a nightmare that occurs after eating too much spicy food. This is Tim Lovelace preparing to umpire the celebrity softball game.

It was good to see Steve "Rabbit" Easter at the 2005 NQC. He made several guests appearances on the NQC stage, playing a wide variety of instruments.

Mike Hopper in the drummer's cage.

Mom (R) and daughter (L) at work - Peg Bean and Connie Fortner of the McKameys.

One of Southern Gospel Music's great sopranos doing what she does best. This is TaRanda Greene.

Okay, I'm just wondering here....is Kreis French (Kingdom Heirs) asleep? I know it's a long tiring week, but..........

Ernie Haase received the honors for Favorite Tenor during the Fan Awards.

Jerry Martin of the Dove Brothers during the group's Quartet Legacy presentation.

Dr Jerry Goff kept things rolling along during the Fan Awards.

Garry Jones of Mercy's Mark during the acceptance speech for the Horizon Group Award.

Mark Trammell, as always, brought dignity to the stage when he received the award for Favorite Baritone.

Lauren Talley brought the house down with her performance of "His Life For Mine."
