Jubilee At Sea (#346)

Monday, February 26, 2007

As most of you know, I spent last week aboard the m/s Celebration as it carried the Jubilee At Sea. Over 1,500 Southern Gospel music fans, artists and other industry people journeyed to the Bahamas for fun, fellowship and food (that part was for Jerry Kirksey!). Over the next few days, I'm going to share a few photos of that trip. Let's get started...

Our home away from home.

On Monday, we left the Port of Jacksonville (Florida). As you can see, we had armed escort...

...and I suspect this was part of the reason! As the Celebration entered the coastal waters, we had to pass by this docked warship.

Here we are, being guided out to sea. If you'll look to the left, you'll see the last tip of land we saw for several hours.

Meanwhile, in the ship's Astoria Lounge, the Mark Trammell Trio (well, all four of them, counting Steve Hurst) was already on stage. They were the first group to sing during the cruise.

The Perrys' Matthew Holt (pianist) and Mark Campbell (sound engineer) spent the first few hours trying to figure out their way around the ship.

Not long after leaving Jacksonville, those on board the Celebration were treated to one of God's handiworks.

I'll have more in a day or so!
