Washington Court House, OH - Thelma Louise Pfeifer, matriarch of the Pfeifer family and the musical group, The Pfeifers, passed away on Sunday morning, February 27. She was 78 years old. Mrs Pfeifer was preceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rev Don Pfeifer, as well as one son, Sam. She is survived by three sons, John, Tom and Mark; daughter, Candy; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and countless extended family members.
She was a vital support to her husband, who enjoyed 60 years of full-time ministry, serving as pastor of several churches and holding the position of District Superintendent in his denomination, prior to his death in November of 2007. She was the prayer warrior who sustained her husband during his 35 years of full-time evangelism, as well as The Pfeifers musical ministry, which has continued for more than three decades. She was instrumental in the formation of the Pfeifer Evangelistic Association, which was formed in 1982. This ministry led to the formation of several other ministries, including Kings Way Fellowship in Batavia, OH, Open Door Ministries in Chillicothe, OH, and The Gathering Place in Washington Court House, OH. Countless lives have been changed and impacted by the rich legacy of Mrs Pfeifer's zeal for serving others and Christ.
A service celebrating the life of Thelma Pfeifer will be held on Wednesday evening, March 2, at 7:00pm at Open Door Fellowship in Chillicothe, OH, where her son, Mark, serves as Senior Pastor. Arrangements are being coordinated by Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly, OH.
