Boone, NC - After much research and planning, Singing News has unveiled a new digital version of their magazine. In the past, subscribers, (both print and digital) have been able to download a PDF of the current, as well as past issues of Singing News. Starting with the March 2010 issue, subscribers can access the magazine online and take advantage of many new features.
The new digital version of the magazine contains links that allow the reader to click and visit the websites of groups, concert promoters, record companies-all while reading the magazine online. While reading the table of contents for the March 2010 issue, you can click on the picture of Brian Free & Assurance and be taken directly to that page in the magazine. If you click on Roy Webb's picture, you will be taken directly to his Family Album feature. In the front of the magazine, you will always see a "From The Editor" section, featuring a brief introduction to the month's magazine by Danny Jones. You can click on his picture and be taken directly to Danny's Diary, his blog on the web that many enjoy reading regularly.
The new digital format even offers the capability to have audio and video clips playing while reading the magazine. If you visit page 51, you will hear an audio clip of Triumphant Quartet's song, "When The Trumpet Sounds".
One of the greatest features of the new digital issue is how much the reading experience rivals actually holding the magazine in your own hands. With the click of the mouse, the user can see the page corners curl and the pages actually "flip" from one page to the next. By simply clicking on a page, you can zoom in or out to make the image larger or smaller.
With each subsequent issue there will be even more interactive elements that the faithful readers of Singing News will be able to enjoy.
