Old Dolly Girl is a Country singer that sings some gospel. Why would you change a good thing by taking away our joy of seeing the artist accept their awards that we the fans vote for. You care nothing about us the fans it is plain to see.If you have a problem with the NQC board I suggest that you work it out and get back to where you belong with the awards. At NQC!!! It's not to late to change this around to where it was. Let the fans have their awards ceremony that they love so much at NQC. Like someone else said this makes no sense and it is a dumb move on your part.

You have taken what fans "vote for" (I've never believed that) and put it where in a theater that will hold the nominees, their famlies, record companies, promotion companies can get in which leaves out the fans. Did you ever think of letting the fans "vote" on that in your goofey survey area. I really think J.D would say "DUMB".

This makes NO Sense! I like a fellow fan bellow was planning on when I was going to NQC this next year around the fan awards b/c of my experience in 09, yet, you change it! You leave a place that seat many fans, to a place that can't seat but maybe 1/10 of the fans, and after you add the artists that will be there, and the artists families, it's even less. Who ever decided to do this should be fired!

This move makes absolutely no sense to me. Is the board tone-deaf?

To Cinsings, we travel from north Georgia to NQC. About a 6 hour drive. If it moves farther north we will not drive another 2 hours, especially now. I started attending the convention in the early 80's (I was 12) BECAUSE of the awards. Now I am considering getting a refund on my 2010 tickets and giving up my permanent seat holder status. I am so sick and tired of all the "movement" going on right now. Nothing was broke yet the higher powers seem to think it all needs fixing. As a fan, I am sick of it. First moving the awards to Saturday, I hated that, next "should we move to Indy" and now the awards are gone. I live 2 hours from Dollywood and have ZERO intention of trying to snatch up what will probably e a very expensive ticket to a theater with less than 1600 seats. And am considering not going to NQC. The fans just don't seem to matter anymore, no one seems to care what we think about things. So me and my pocketbook will make up our own mind.

Wow, cannot believe this. Just another change like the proposed move to Indy. Cannot believe if this one takes place that the NQC would move that far North. Just what we need. I'd like to know where most of the folks come from. I would be inclined to believe more from areas allot closer to Louisville than Indy. If you have to move it why not back to Atlanta. Gwinnett Arena is a nice place just North of Atlanta on I-85

There may be several reasons for this move, but they are all spelled m-o-n-e-y. I don't know the details of the conflict between SN & NQC, but rest assured there is a monetary conflict. I have attended the Hall of Fame ceremonies and while it was reasonably supported by the public, very few performers were there to honor the inductees. Why? Because it costs too much to pull off the road for this event. Artists will not be as likely to skip the program with the awards there too, the ceremony will draw more people and SN is out from under NQC control of the Fan Awards.

To say that I'm disappointed that the Singing News Fan Awards have been moved to Dollywood would be an understatement!!! Are you kidding me?? Who's bright idea (that's not so bright) was this? The Singing News Fan Awards has been a part of NQC for as long as I can remember! This will surely be significant in the decline of attendance for NQC because for myself and many others this was a BIG highlight for the week! I don't see how you will have near the attendance or positive response because of this decision!!! It wasn't broke and didn't need fixing!

This may be an excellent move on the part of SN. Just don't think it is a good move for the fans and these are fan awards. Don't get me wrong. I am not a SN basher. I have been a subscriber for years and will continue to be. And I certainly am not one of the "conspiracy theorist". However, when you move an event like this to a venue that only seats about 1550 people and make it an expensive ticketed event, I don't see how it can be good for the fans. That being said, it is up to SN to make these kind of decisions and not me. If I can afford it, and can get a ticket, I will probably attend. If I can't, I'm sure SN will be selling DVDs for a lot less than the price of a ticket.

I too think this is a bad move. I enjoyed this very much at the NQC. I will not be able to attend because of taking off work for two events. It should stay at the NQC.
