Welcome to the next installment of "Tech Talk." This monthly feature will hopefully help you understand about certain sound and musical gadgets that everyone sees but are just not sure how they operate in the real world.

This month we will be talking about road cases.

Whether a group is part-time, full-time or all-the-time, when traveling you must think about how your expensive equipment and vaulable product will be protected. From jostling around underneath a bus, or bouncing around in a trailer being pulled behind whatever means of transportation you are using, a sturdy road case is essential in making sure that your equipment and product arrives in one piece and in working order.

I want to introduce you to a company that builds road case and studio rack cases. They also build cases for cd racks and cases for other items such as instruments, microphones and speaker stands. They are Continental Case Company of Newark, Delaware.

I can testify that these cases are built "road tough"! They look professional and can take any abuse you can throw at them. Let me just show you some of what they have to offer:

Mixer case Mixer Case - Part of the line of Industrial and Transit Cases that include: Custom ATA Shipping Cases, Reusable Shipping Cases, Reusable Storage Cases, Equipment Cases and more.
Instant replay case Instant Replay Case - Specifically designed to protect the 360 Systems Instant Replay. Includes additional space for storage. The case is constructed of 3/8" laminate and the unit is protected by 1" of carpeted foam.
DVD case CD-DVD Case - 4 Tier Single case with optional corner wheels and flip up handle.
MiniDisc case MiniDisc Case - One of two cases manufactured for safe transport of a MiniDisc player. Since production of MiniDisc players has ceased, these cases may very well be phased out of production in the future.
3 tier double case 3 Tier Double Top Loading Case - Will accommodate two 3-tier racks.
You can Click Here to visit Continental Case on the web, where they have more detailed information about all the products they offer.

Til next time,

Roger
