Happy October!
Well, NQC week is behind us, and what a great NQC it was! I have enough material to print for the next year! Funny stuff! I would like to say thank you to everyone who submitted a story and please keep them coming**. I will be sharing some of these great stories over the next few months. This one struck me in particular. I hope it touches you as much as it did me when I first read it!
Mr. Webb,
My name is Bethany. I'm 19 and I live in Georgia. My story is about Eric Bennett and Triumphant Quartet. I went to hear Triumphant Quartet, November 14, 2008 with my Aunt. Their singing was great, but that's not what I want to tell you about.
You see I'm a Preacher's kid. I asked Jesus into my life when I was nine years old. Looking back now I see that the only reason I did it was because I knew that it was expected of me. Well that night Eric talked about knowing that you are saved and having a personal relationship with Christ. It was then that I realized that I had based my salvation on how good I was. I never really had anything to do with God. So when Eric asked for anyone who wasn't sure about their salvation to raise their hand, I did. Then he asked whoever raised their hand to have the courage to come down to the front of the stage. So I did.
He lead me though prayer right then and there. Then he told me that he wanted to see me after the concert was over. So after it ended, I found him and we talked for a little while. Then right before I left he asked me to wait a minute. When he came back he had a pink Triumphant bag and in it he had one of every CD from there table. I told him he didn't have to do that, and I couldn't take them. He held the bag out to me and said that he wanted to do it and that he would be praying for me, so I took them.
That's how real Christians are, they don't care what's in it for them. Eric is a great example of that, he simply does what God has called him to do and you can tell he loves doing it. I can hardly think of a group that has an invitation at their concerts. I just want to thank Eric and Triumphant Quartet for obeying God's voice, and giving the invitation that night.
I will never forget that night. And I know that God will never forget it either.
So that's my story. It may not mean much to anyone else, but it means everything to me.
God Bless, He Always Does
Bethany
Folks...THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT!!!! This is also why Triumphant has endeared themselves to thousands of fans! They are the real deal! I know these guys personally, and I can say they are the same guys on stage as they are off of the stage. Kudos to Triumphant for being a tremendous influence in the life of this young person!
When you practice acts of kindness like this, it not only affects you and that person, but, stories like this one will be read by thousands...and hopefully will inspire each of us to take more time for eachother! God Bless!
Until Next Month
See Ya At The Table~
