Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and beat until stiff. Add sugar gradually and fold in crackers. Add nuts and vanilla. Put in lightly-buttered 10 x 6 inch rectangular pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and cool. Top with Cool Whip tha
