1 lb dates1 lb English walnuts1 lb brown sugar1 Cup melted Crisco (not oil)2 1/2 Cups plain flour1 teaspoon baking soda3 eggs
Pour melted Crisco over brown sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour and baking soda together. Add to shortening mixture. Mix well. Add broken walnuts and cut-up dates. Will be hard to stir (use a little energy). Drop by scant teaspoons on cookie sheet
