Butterscotch Pie


Ingredients

1 9-inch baked pastry shell

Filling:

1 Cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 Cup cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 Cup water

1 1/2 Cups milk

3 egg yolks, slightly beaten

2 Tablespoons butter or oleo

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

Mix brown sugar, cornstarch and salt in saucepan. Gradually stir in the water and milk. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Simmer 1 minute longer. Stir a little of the hot mixture into the egg yolks, then stir yolks into remain
