Melt together the butter, oil and water. Add sugar, flour, cocoa, eggs, vanilla and salt. Add the soda which has been dissolved in the buttermilk to the preceeding mixture. Pour into large sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
