Butterscotch Cookies With Date Filling


Ingredients

1/2 Cup butter or margarine

2 Cups brown sugar, packed

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 1/2 Cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

Date-Nut Filling

Instructions

Cream together butter or margarine and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix thorughly. Form into a roll 1 1/2 inches in diameter and wrap in wax paper. Chill for several hours. Slice and arrange half the slices on
