Cream butter or margarine. Gradually beat in the sugar. Add vanilla and flour and mix until bowl is clean. Chill thoroughly. Roll out on a lightly floured board to a thickness of 1/2 inch. Cut with a 2-inch round. Decorate with cherries. Bake in a 350 deg
