Chess Pie


Ingredients

1 Cup butter (scant)

2 Cups sugar (scant)

4 eggs, Separate, fold in beaten whites last

1 teaspoon corn meal, dampen with 2 Tablespoons milk

Dash salt

Instructions

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time and moistened meal and salt, 1 teaspoon vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. Fold in beaten whites. Bake at 400 degrees for five minutes, lower heat to 375 degrees and bake until set, about 30 minutes.
